Trapezium: A trapezium is a quadrilateral in which only one pair of opposite sides are parallel and the other pair of opposite sides is not parallel.

ABCD is a trapezium with AB//CD

Here, AB and CD are two bases of trap. ABCD

DM and CN are height or altitude of trap. ABCD

Area of trapezium can be computed using the formula:

Area of trapezium = 1 × Sum of parallel sides × Distance between them

Area of trapezium = {1 × (AB +CD) × h} sq. units
