Introduction to Power Electronics Certificate Course

Enroll in the Introduction to Power Electronics Program to learn about techniques of power electronics.

University of Colorado Boulder

Course Overview

The course in power electronics helps introduce the basic concepts of switched-mode converter circuits. The controlling and converting of the electrical power with high efficiency is also taught. Here, the principles of the converter circuit analysis are introduced and developed to find the state voltage, current, and efficiency of the power converter. In the course, the assignments will include a simulation of a DC converter, an analysis of the inverting DC converter and the efficiency of the electric vehicle system.

After completing the course, it will help the learners understand the switch mode converter and its operations. They will be able to solve steady-state voltages, their inversion, and other power converters. Also, the students will be able to derive the equivalent circuit model, further solving the efficiency of the converter.
